When I think of the values I hold most dear, two words come to mind: “freedom” and “growth.” These values have been shaped by my life experiences and career transitions.
Freedom: Taking control of your life
First, about "freedom." Freedom to me means being able to take control of my own life. In my previous office job, I felt confined by going to work at a set time and doing set tasks every day. However, by deciding to become a web developer and making it happen, I feel that I have taken the first step towards achieving true freedom.
By working as a freelancer and selling digital content, I am becoming free from the constraints of time and place. This freedom is not just the physical freedom of being able to wake up whenever and wherever I want, but also the mental freedom of being able to choose a job based on my values and beliefs.
Growth: the joy of pushing boundaries
Next is "growth." I place great value on constantly learning new things and improving myself. Waking up at 5am every morning to study to become a web developer was a manifestation of this desire to grow. I find great fulfillment and joy in the process of learning new technologies, honing my skills, and pushing my limits.
Growth does not only mean technical skills, but also business acumen and human depth. Working as a freelancer, I have improved my communication skills with clients and self-management skills. In addition, in the process of selling digital content, I have experienced growth in new areas such as marketing and understanding customer psychology.
These values also heavily influence my future goals: I'm aiming for a completely automated income in order to gain greater freedom, and in the process, I want to keep trying new things and growing.
The values of freedom and growth may sometimes seem contradictory. If you seek complete freedom, you may neglect your efforts for growth, and conversely, if you insist on growth, your freedom may be restricted. However, I believe that finding a balance between these two is the key to living a fulfilling life.
Being free allows me to focus on what I really want, which fosters true growth. At the same time, continuing to grow gives me greater freedom. I believe this interplay makes my life richer and more meaningful.
Finally
I would like to continue to build my life by cherishing these two values, and not only pursue my own freedom and growth, but also engage in work and activities that can provide the same opportunities to others.
